    New CMOS Realization of Voltage Differencing Buffered Amplifier and Its Biquad Filter Applications

    In this paper, new biquad filter configuration using a recently introduced active element, namely Voltage Differencing Buffered Amplifier (VDBA), is proposed. This block has high impedance input terminals and low impedance output terminal, providing advantages at voltage mode circuits. Besides, VDBA has a transconductance gain, thus the proposed circuits can be employed without using any external resistors. Two new voltage-mode biquad filter configurations are presented for VDBA application. Each proposed filter employs two active elements and two or three passive components. Filters, having three inputs and single output, can realize voltage-mode low-pass, band-pass, high-pass, band-stop, and all-pass filters. The biquad filters have low output impedances that is necessity for cascadability for voltage mode circuits, and no critical component matching conditions are required. For the second biquad, quality factor can be adjusted via resistor independently of the natural frequency. Simulation results are given to, confirming the theoretical analysis. The proposed biquad filters are simulated using TSMC CMOS 0.35 µm technology. LTSPICE simulations of the proposed circuits give results that agree well with the theoretical analysis

    The Impact of Carvacrol on Ammonia and Biogenic Amine Production by Common Foodborne Pathogens

    PubMedID: 26580308The impact of carvacrol at different levels (0.1%, 0.5%, and 1%) on ammonia (AMN) and biogenic amines (BAs) production by 8 common foodborne pathogens (FBPs) (Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterococcus faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Listeria monocytogenes, Aeromonas hydrophila, and Salmonella Paratyphi A) was studied using a rapid high-performance liquid chromatography method. Significant differences among bacteria (P < 0.05) in AMN and BA production were observed using a tyrosine decarboxylase broth. Tyramine, dopamine, agmatine, spermine, and putrescine were the main amines produced by the bacteria. Tyramine production by P. aeruginosa was the highest (967 mg/L), whereas K. pneumoniae was the poorest tyramine producer (6.42 mg/L). AMN and BA production varied significantly depending on carvacrol levels and the specific bacterial strains. Tyramine production for all bacterial strains was significantly suppressed by addition of carvacrol at levels of 0.5% and 1%, but not 0.1%. Consequently, the effect of carvacrol on BA and AMN formation by FBP was dependent on bacterial strain as well as carvacrol level. © 2015 Institute of Food Technologists

    An effect of heat input, weld atmosphere and weld cooling conditions on the resistance spot weldability of 316L austenitic stainless steel

    This paper aims to investigate the effect of weld time, different weld atmospheres and weld cooling conditions on the resistance spot weld quality of 316L stainless steel. Therefore, the microstructure of welded samples was evaluated and the hardness and tensile shear load bearing capacity of weldment was also determined. It was found that the final mechanical properties of welded samples are directly related to the parameters of the process used, knowing the weld time and weld atmosphere. Tensile shear load bearing capacity of welded samples increased with increasing heat input related with weld time due to the enlargement of nugget size. In addition, the tensile shear load bearing capacity of welded samples obtained in nitrogen atmosphere was found slightly higher compared to the normal atmosphere for all weld time. © 2007 Elsevier B.V.
